Purchase the chain according to your measurements. You can find chain at a craft store or a store that sells sewing notions. You may even have an old belt in your closet that you can recycle for this project. Try to purchase a chain that has open links so you can weave the ribbon easily.

Select two colors of ribbon that contrast yet match whatever you plan to wear with your chain ribbon belt. The ribbon needs to be wide enough to go through the chain loops easily. Buy the same length as the chain plus allow 24 inches extra to tie the ribbons.

Place the two ribbons together. Mark 12 inches from one end. With the other end, begin weaving the ribbons between the links on the chain.
